LxMeter: A Powerful Instrument for Photographers
LxMeter is an Android application that provides photographers with a comprehensive set of tools to measure light and exposure. With this application, users can turn their phone into a powerful instrument that includes a lux meter, exposure meter, flash meter, spot meter, color meter, and flicker meter. The lux meter allows users to measure illuminance from 0.1 tolx, while the exposure meter provides an easy-to-use incident/reflected light meter to determine proper exposure for a photograph.
The app supports measurements of flash lights and can display the percentage of flash in total exposure. LxMeter can also deal with landscapes or other distant objects by running its spot meter mode; users can measure luminance (cd/m2 or foot-lambert) and correlated color temperature (CCT). The app also features a powerful analysis tool to evaluate flicker performance of a light source according to IEEEUsers can specify ISO speed and exposure time and let the app show in real time the optimal aperture value or set the aperture and read the exposure time. LxMeter allows users to add notes to their personal archive, and exposure and location information is added automatically. The app supports multiple languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Russian.
